But ABC, which is owned by Walt Disney Co., is giving the six-hour “Dinotopia” three consecutive nights beginning Sunday, in the middle of the important May ratings sweeps, on which stations depend to set future ad rates. The miniseries comes at a time when other networks have cut back on or abandoned the genre after audiences seemed to lose interest. With state-of-the-art special effects, fantastic adventures, and lessons in loyalty, friendship, and family,RHI Entertainment’s Dinotopia achieves unprecedented new thrills.Taking a major leap of faith, ABC is hoping “Dinotopia"-a fantasy world in which humans and dinosaurs coexist-can help breathe life into a struggling television network that lives in a real world where big-budget, special effects-laden movies have been on the verge of extinction. In the thrilling finale to the dazzling Dinotopia, it’s our world that becomes a mystery as Budapest receives two of the least likely tourists in history. What they take back with them to Dinotopia is up to fate. Now, the three Dinotopians must find the portal to return-and fast. Unaccustomed to the pollution of outside world, LeSage soon becomes susceptible to diseases of her own. Her pure blood can produce the antibodies they need-a purity that also carries risks.

Incredibly though, the cure lies within LeSage. LeSage finds herself on the run from the police, the Chasmosaur is missing, and a museum curator becomes wise to the baby dinosaur. With time running out and Karl’s life ebbing away by the minute, nothing goes right. Where they end up is thousands of miles away in Budapest with no money, a language barrier, a restless LeSage, and a creature long extinct. With a chant, a prayer, and a Chasmosaur stowaway, David and LeSage embark on an extraordinary journey. Much to his dismay, LeSage wants to see what the real world is like, regardless of its dangers. If David can make it to Manhattan’s Bellevue Hospital he can find the cure-but he’s not going alone. Unfortunately, it can’t be found on Dinotopia, but through a secret portal to the outside world. After speaking to her mother Rosemary, Marion realizes there’s only one chance left for the guy she loves. Suffering from a rapidly rising fever, his chances for survival seem doomed. When Karl is bitten by a venomous mosquito, even Dinotopia’s most potent healer can’t provide the antidote. It’s a beautiful sentiment until it comes between two lovers…and throws two enemies together on a trip beyond all imagination. In Dinotopia, death is celebrated as the beginning of another life, part of a long and wonderful journey.
